Lightbulb

Invention

Arc lamp

-invented by Humphry Davy

-very harsh lighting

-sees invention of viable by one in 1851

-Source

-comes hand in hand with telegraphy, used in addition to wartime by railroads

-and increasingly used in public writing as well

-along with it comes use of centralized dynamo networks

-and rise of flame arc lamps as well

-only declines in 1920s-40s

Incandescence

-in 1802, Humphry Davy uses giant battery to create incandescent lightbulb by passing current through strip of platinum

-various others, platinum experiments in 19th century

-eventual experiments in using carbon from arc lamps but vacuums not good enough

-and bulbs typically blacken

-by 1870s, better (but impractical) lightbulbs developed by better vacuum pump (Electrodynamics > ^083a02) and soon afterwards work on lightbulbs

-by 1890s, lightbulb developed but has platinum wires, overly rigid, breaks

-in 1912, someone in US develops viable incandescent lightbulb

-rise of electrical power network in 19102-20s

-but is slower because of Fluidic power being fairly prominent

-note that, with slower rise of mass electrical power, there is no "war of the currents"
